FURNCSR

FURNCSR – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) guidelines and tools to enhance the furniture labour market attractiveness.

The FURNCSR project aims to provide EU furniture sector companies with guidelines to deploy Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Shared Value and enabling to bring their specific and highest benefits. FURNCSR will provide them an action plan template guiding them toward an innovative management model able to strengthen companies’ attractiveness and employees retention capacity. In addition to employees and companies, it will benefit as well other sector stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, community and public administration. Special attention will be put on Furniture SMEs that represent 99,5% of the sector companies.


Specific objectives

The specific objectives of FURNCSR are the following:

  • SO1: Develop practical and validated guidelines to integrate companies existing management models with actions and activities for deploying CSR / Shared Value practices in furniture companies. Their validation will be done through the involvement of at least 50 experts in CSR and/or furniture sector through a validation process. The guide will be available in 10 languages.
  • SO2:Develop and provide companies with an online tool for the self-evaluation of their level of maturity and real readiness to deploy CSR / Shared Value practices and to identify the appropriate and priority improvement options. The tool will be fully adapted to furniture sector companies and will include specific methods and criteria for them. The priorities will be discussed and better identified thanks to a workshop. The online tool will be available in 10 EU languages.
  • SO3:Implement a pilot assessment of the online tool for self-evaluation by European companies. It will be done in selected companies across different EU countries (at least in 6 countries and 3 companies for each one, 18 in total). Specific Cards will be the practical outcomes of this task.
  • SO4:Identify employees’ knowledge and skills needs to successfully implement CSR and Shared Value practices; and create a set of recommendations for Furniture and other sectors stakeholders to foster and support the deployment of these practices in companies.
  • SO5:Facilitate a wide and effective dissemination, in addition to two project flyers, we will deliver a Full Report (printed and electronic version in 10 languages) containing the guidelines for the CSR practices deployment, the presentation of the on-line self-evaluation tool and the recommendations for all the different stakeholders.
  • SO6:A follow-up plan will be designed during project last months and jointly implemented by Partners after the end of the project and open for other sector stakeholders.

Deliverables

FURNCSR will produce the following deliverables:

  • D1: A Guide for Furniture Sector Workers and Stakeholders for deploying CSR / Shared Value practices in furniture companies.
  • D2: An online tool for self-evaluating the readiness of furniture companies for CSR / Shared Value practices deployment and identify which should be their specific priorities in the field.
  • D3: A pilot assessment of the online self-evaluation tool done by at least 18 EU companies, which will provide inputs on their key priorities for CSR and Shared Value. Data will be collected in specific Cards.
  • D4: A report identifying employees’ knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement CSR and Shared Value practices and a set of recommendations for Furniture and other sectors stakeholders to foster and support the deployment of these practices in companies.
  • D5: A follow-up plan with guidelines for all project partners and other sector stakeholders.
